Human Resource Management

This field of concentration focuses on personnel management in organizations, on the role and development of the manager as a leader and on the specific functions and mission of the personnel/human resources department. Entry-level positions are obtained in private and public enterprise and wherever the personnel function is departmentalized.

2. Major Field Requirements: 2.0 Minimum GPA Required in the courses that are listed below (15 credits)

  • MGT 460: Capstone for Management Majors (W): 3 credits
  • Twelve credits from the following courses:
    • MGT 411: Organizational Staffing: 3 credits
    • MGT 412: Compensation and Reward Systems: 3 credits
    • MGT 413: Personnel Training and Development: 3 credits
    • MGT 414: Diversity in the Workplace: 3 credits
    • MGT 418: Labor-Management Relations: 3 credits
    • MGT 475: Negotiations: 3 credits
    • MGT 476: Globalization and International Management: 3 credits
    • MGT 490: Independent Study: 1-3 credits
    • MGT 491: Special Topics in Human Resources Management: 3 credits
